Jamin toma la primera pole y Urrutia es quinto
Nico Jamin loogró su primera pole en la Indy Lights eclipsando al duo de Carlin de Zachary Claman De Melo y Neil Alberico.

El piloto francés de Andretti Autosport logró un registro de 1m15.2443 segundos en el circuito de 2.439 millas de Indianápolis para derrotar a De Melo por 0.13 segundos y Alberico por 0.2 segundos.
Kyle Kaiser fue el cuarto más rápido para Juncos Racing, por delante de Santiago Urrutia, piloto de Belardi / Schmidt Peterson y el líder del campeonato Colton Herta de Andretti Steinbrenner Racing.
Shelby Blackstock y Aaron Telitz fueron séptimo y octavo para Belardi, con Matheus Leist (Carlin) y Dalton Kellett (Andretti) completando los 10 primeros.
Juan Piedrahita golpeó su coche del equipo Pelfrey en las barreras en la curva 5 y tendrá que empezar desde la parte posterior de la parrilla después de causar un largo período de bandera roja.
